Review of the bookPast the Dark Field. By Evert Nijdam (pseudonym) MAP.
It is a brave thing for a writer to want to tell the stories of Minor Attracted Persons. Not only because of the effects of stigma that can backfire on her. But also to want to hear stories that are not your own, are totally different and can make you feel uneasy.
First I think the book really give good examples of how MAPs think and experience life in this society. How they speak and express themselves. Therefore it is good to read by MAPs and researchers on Minor attraction. For normal people who maybe curious it will be a difficult story due to not understanding the language.
What I liked most is that the stories are so real that I can find many similarities with my life, that often I felt tears coming. The erotic story of Paul could be less pornographic, it would be more understanding the reality of the content. Yes we all want a relation and fear rejection on our feelings.
This is certainly no novel, but a book to keep reading, time and again. You will see more depth each time you read it again. And I hope the book may give your thoughts information to get your own story clear. We need MAPs that are strong in self-esteem and self-control. Love is the most beautiful feeling one can have and it can make you so positive in thoughts and actions.
Then you are really past the dark field.
Thx for the opportunity i had to read it. Thanks for writing it.
